There’s always a new low to be had among those with devous minds. Never think you’ve heard the worst; you’re only setting yourself up for future eating of your own words. That would be the case of Miralys Agosto-England, 23, a teaching assistant at a Florida middle school for special needs children. While the boy she targeted was sixteen years of age, he was only in the seventh grade, which might lend some approximation to the nature of the boy’s skill level.
Agosto-England worked at the Westside K-8 school in Kissimmee, Florida, where she allegedly engage in sexual acts with the boy listed as “disabled” at least twice this past April. Not really alleged any longer since the teaching assistant copped to the encounters. Florida is one of those states that lawfully allows 16 and 17-year olds to have sex with adults up to the age of 23, which would have applied here, but they also have that “custodial” law that overrides, wherein teachers and other supervisors of kids can’t have sex with kids until 18. Assume there may also be some rules related to special needs or disabled students. Though it is Florida, so maybe not.
Agosto-England is now facing two counts of sexual battery in relation to her role as a teacher. Imagine a potential jury wouldn’t look too kindly upon a woman who had sex not only with an underaged student, but one at a school for children requiring extra assistance to get by. Expect a plea deal to come fast and furious. Agosto-England is listed at 5’2″ and 170 pounds. That’s not relevant under law, but worth noting when you might be wondering who has sex with a repeatedly held-back 7th grader.
