It’s almost refreshing in this day and age to find a hip, late 20-something attractive female high school teacher not sleeping with her students. Well, refreshing for the parents, maybe the male students would disagree with this assessment. While Rachel Leigh Farley, 29, a math teacher at Denver’s East High School wasn’t doinking her students, she was arrested for inviting several to her home last summer to make school decorations and smoke some pot. The consummate cool teacher.

Farley had been a teacher in the Denver Public Schools for several years before suddenly resigning last Fall on her own accord to focus on her passion: dance instruction. She continued to teach dance in a volunteer capacity for the school after her official departure. It wasn’t until several months later that one narc of a student told somebody in a position of authority about a bunch of kids smoking weed with Ms. Farley the previous summer that an investigation was undertaken. In the course of what became a police investigation, nine upperclassmen and women were interviewed by cops and admitted to hitting the spliff with Farley the previous August.

This past week Farley was arrest on contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It’s a felony arrest and quite serious, albeit you’d expect some kind of lesser deal to be made given the circumstances and just how easy it is for seventeen year old’s to get weed in Colorado on their own accord. Still, she’s been banned across the board from working in Denver Public Schools in any capacity, which probably sucks for her business of teaching dance to kids. A relatively high price to pay for being the hip teacher with the joint.

Farley is awaiting further judicial proceedings.
