There’s disturbing, and then there’s this case out of Pennsylvania in which several men and one woman are accused of participating in the years-long abuse of one boy, oftentimes at “furry” parties.

Authorities say the whole thing began in 2009, when a group of men began sexually abusing an 8-year-old boy at furry parties. If you’re not familiar with furries, they’re essentially people who dress up like anthropomorphic animals, similar to Disney cartoon characters or, say, Sonic the Hedgehog. Now, a majority of furries don’t have any sort of sexual deviancy surrounding their unusual hobby, but because some of them do, it’s a common joke that furries dress up like animals because they like to screw in costume. (That’s called “yiffing.”) Cases of abuse like this one, however, are rare and, frankly, really goddamn creepy.

The only woman thus far charged in the case is 27-year-old Paige Wren Tasker of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. She allegedly got involved in this whole horrendous business while dating David Parker, also charged in the case. While visiting Parker, she allegedly slept in the victim’s bed and sexually assaulted¬†him on multiple occasions. Her charges include¬†statutory sexual assault, corruption of minors, involuntary deviant sexual intercourse and indecent assault. The victim would have been 14 when the alleged assault occurred.

Also charged in the case are Kenneth Fenske, 57, who apparently dressed up like a red fox named Lupine; David Parker, 38; Jeffrey Harvey, 40; Stephen Taylor, 30, who has also been charged with bestiality and animal cruelty; and Taylor’s roommate, Craig Knox. It appears that Parker may have been the ringleader in the abuse. The case unravelled after Harvey was arrested after he was allegedly caught trying to arrange a sexual encounter with who he thought was a 13-year-old boy online. The boy was actually an officer, trying to lure (alleged) pervs like Harvey. Authorities say Harvey showed them texts he had previously exchanged with Parker. This led investigators to Parker and the boy, who told them about the alleged abuse. The boy also said he was sometimes forced to dress up like Tony the Tiger when it occurred. Harvey is not charged with abusing the boy. Fenske and Knox are both accused of abusing the boy, Fenske on numerous occasions. There isn’t a pit deep enough for this lot.

The victim, now 16, is receiving treatment and counseling.
