In 1995, five teenagers conspired to brutally murder 18-year-old Tracey Muzyk. One of those teenagers, now an adult woman, has just escaped from jail.
Tracey had only recently met and befriended one of the teens, who alleged that Tracey owed her $70. Amber and four friends held Tracey down as they burned her with cigarettes and boiling water, and sprayed mace in her face. They tied her to a tree and beat her to death with a rock and a fence post. She was found four days later, still tied to the tree.
Tara Kehoe was one of her killers, just 18 at the time, and was serving a sentence of 15 years. She was considered a low-risk prisoner and as such, was able to simply slip away while participating in an off-site work program. It’s not clear where Tara might be at this time.
A woman has been convicted of murdering a man who tried to project her children from, well, her. Crystal Galloway, 34, of Kansas has been convicted of killing 59-year-old Robin Fought. Prosecutors alleged that Crystal killed Robin because he tattled on her. Crystal was the mother of six children, and five of them had been taken into state custody because in addition to being an all around shit person, she was also a shit mom.
Robin had knowledge of Crystal’s plans to kidnap her children out of their various foster homes and flee the state, so he called a caseworker and left a message alerting them to the scheme. That message, dated May 8, 2015,was played in court during Crystal’s trial. Crystal also apparently sent a damning text to her daughter prior to the murder, saying she was going to “get me a snitch.” She also sent another asking her daughter to wipe her phone, which she clearly did not. Kids never listen, do they?
Only a matter of days later, on May 15, Robin’s body was found slumped in his pickup truck, parked near a field and set on fire. It was discovered that he had been stabbed. A forensic pathologist told the court that he had no evidence to suggest that Robin was alive at the time the blaze was ignited, as the wounds he sustained are not the type of wounds someone survives.
Crystal’s lawyers tried to blame it on her co-defendant, 19-year-old Dakota Cunningham, who may have worked for Robin as a scrapper. At the time of the murder, Crystal was pregnant with Dakota’s child. Though Dakota allegedly told three separate people that he was the one who stabbed Robin, her DNA was found on the murder weapon. Dakota was not found mentally competent to stand trial and is currently being held in a hospital for treatment.
This past May, police responded to reports of a couple of ladies spending a weird amount of time in a bathroom stall, located inside the ladies’ room of a Walmart in Hixson, Tennessee.
Inside, the cops say they found Angela Bivens, a 34-year-old mother and frequent jail regular, allegedly shooting up with another woman. Officers recovered three needles, and noticed a spray of blood across the toilet. Bivens’ arm was allegedly ripe with track marks. The women weren’t entirely alone in there either. Bivens had brought along her 11-week-old son. The young boy was taken to a hospital where he tested positive for meth and amphetamine. Needless to say, that’s quite dangerous, and the smart money is on Angela winning a total of zero custody battles in the near future.
Bivens, who has only just been charged in the crime this week, has been arrested numerous times before, for things such as theft, prostitution and drug possession. But most of Angela’s problems seem to stem from a nasty drug addiction that began when she was just a kid.
It’s a weird and sad trajectory to follow, but local tv station ABC 9 interviewed Angela several months ago, when she was pregnant with the child. She talked with the station about going through drug court as a kid, as well as an adult. She said she was in the juvenile court system from 11 to 19 after getting addicted to drugs and alcohol as a youth. At the time, she said that juvenile court did not offer a drug court. Angela would not attend drug court until she was 29, where she said she entered AA and NA.
“I relapsed after I graduated after three and a half years, but the thing that drug court taught me was how to go back to recovery,” she said.
At the time, she said she spent her time going to work, meetings and church and described her life as “normal.” How “normal” spiraled back into hard drug use and exposing a baby to drugs is unclear. Looks like it’s time for another trip down recovery lane, this time safely behind bars.
In a bizarre and shocking case out of Omaha, a teen girl has been charged with murder after tossing her own baby out a second story window.
Antonia Lopez, 16, was alone in her room on Friday night when she went into labor prematurely. It is not clear how far along the girl was in her pregnancy, but the baby was only two pounds when delivered. Instead of alerting anyone to the birth, Antonia instead threw the child out her window, then asked via Facebook if anyone with a car would be willing to do her “a huge favor.”
A half hour after tossing the baby, Antonia told her mother what had happened. Her mother called 9-1-1. When rescuers arrived, they found Antonia’s mother holding the infant and attempting to perform CPR, but it was too late. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Some have offered a possible defense of Antonia: she was unaware she was pregnant, delivered a stillborn infant, and in a moment of panic, threw the body out the window. However, Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said that for Antonia to be booked on the charges she was booked on, the child would have had to have been born alive.
Antonia had something of a troubled childhood, by all accounts. She had been reported as a runaway nine times in a single year, and had previously been in trouble for shoplifting.
Some of Antonia’s family members, including her grandfather, said they didn’t even know the teen was pregnant, and that she did not look it. Her grandmother told KETV that they didn’t know who the father of Antonia’s baby was.
Antonia’s Facebook, which is public and has been left as such since her arrest, reveals more clues, if you can sift through the 900 or so comments calling her a disgusting murderer.
One woman, Jenelle Cherry, claims that Antonia was pregnant with her little brother’s child. Jenelle’s own public posts reveal a litany of pro-life memes and rhetoric. Could Antonia have been pressured by outside influences to keep a baby she did not want, leading her to make an unforgivable, cold-hearted decision once the child arrived?
Antonia is scheduled to appear in court in December. She has been charged as an adult. Two seemingly lives over, just like that.
This is about as bad as it gets, folks. This magenta-haired, rhinestone-dimpled sea witch and her face tats are probably headed to prison for a long, long time. This is Mercy Becerra, and she and her pal John Lewis Hartley, were apprehended while trying to traipse into Tijuana with a duffel bag that contained the body of a 2-year-old girl.
Investigations later revealed that they had drowned the child in Whittier, then attempted to transport the body all the way to Mexico, likely to dispose of it. Even worse, police eventually found that the girl was the daughter of a woman this disgusting duo had been trafficking for the past four years.
The mother of the girl is still alive, but her condition is unknown. These two have been charged with murder, torture, trafficking and assault and are apt to face life in prison if convicted as charged. The torture allegations pertain to the child, who prosecutors say the couple abused beginning in January and leading all the way up to her death on August 9.
Nothing like a nice relaxing vacation to the beautiful beaches of Cancun, right? That’s what Aida Margaret Stovall, 30, was ready for when she left her Virginia home, boarded a plane and went on a week-long vacation at a luxury resort in Mexico with her boyfriend. Except there was something Aida had forgotten to do before she left, and it wasn’t pack her contacts case. She forgot to secure a babysitter for her three children.
This wasn’t like Home Alone, apparently, in that not taking the kids along was a whacky oversight. Police allege that Aida intentionally left her 11-year-old daughter as well as a set 8-year-old twin girls to fend for themselves while she enjoyed her child-free vacation.
A 67-year-old neighbor said that Aida had asked her to watch the girls, but that she told Aida she could only periodically check in on them, the way a neighbor might check in on your plants or your cat. She claims Aida told her it was no big, because the eldest girl would be able to cook and do laundry. Most 11-year-olds I know have mastered no culinary masterpieces beyond the peanut butter sandwich, but okay. Police say that Aida never left behind any emergency contact or means for anyone to reach her should something have gone wrong.
Authorities were alerted to the situation on the third day of the girls’ solo adventure when one of them told the principal of their school that they’d been left alone for the week. When Aida landed in Miami, refreshed from her vacation, she was extradited to Virginia where her next home-away-from home had bars, but not the kind that serve Mai Tais.
What do you do when you want to shoot up some smack but you don’t know what to do with your pesky toddler? If you’re 24-year-old Paige Adams of Phoenix, you just lock the little scamp in the closet for a few hours.
Adams was arrested on September 29 on suspicion of shoplifting and, when asked, told police that she did have a child. A single daughter, she said, who was currently being cared for by friends. When police went to look for Paige’s kid, they found the 3-year-old girl alone in an apartment, in a bedroom closet, crying and clad in a soiled diaper.
The child had been alone, by their estimates, for about 12 hours while her mother did heroin and somehow, ended up involved in the whole shoplifting debacle. She told police she thought it’d be fine because she didn’t expect to be gone for very long. Times flies when you’re high on heroin, perhaps. Police also noted that needles were found in the home that the child could have gotten ahold of, had she found a way out of the closet.
Laura Haggerty, 47, of Florida was nothing short of wasted the night of May 8, yet she still got behind the wheel her Ford Explorer Sport SUV. Her boyfriend, 35-year-old Kelly Rider, was in the passenger seat when she swerved over the swale and smashed into a guard rail. The car rolled over and in the process, Kelly was thrown from the car.
Laura remained trapped until rescuers arrived, only she tried to fight them off. They could smell the booze wafting from her person and noticed she was drunk from the get-go. Investigations later figured that she’d been cruising at 70 mph in a 45. Laura was taken into surgery and survived. Kelly, however, was not so lucky.
Laura has since been charged with two counts of DUI/manslaughter and one count of vehicular homicide. The ol’ boozehound claims that she has not only quit drinking, but will never drink again. Which should be easy to do in prison, unless you end up falling face-first into a toilet bowl of prison hooch.
Leading up to Laura’s arrest, she posted numerous photos of herself with Kelly, writing about how sad and regretful she was about his passing. They’re doing very Florida things, like waving around Confederate flags and riding motorcycles, but the love she had for him at least seems like it was genuine.
Most teen girls are apprehensive to bring their boyfriends home to meet the family. What if your parents don’t like him, or do something to embarrass you? Or if you’re Kathy Tompa’s poor daughter, what if your mom seduces your boyfriend?
Kathy Tompa, 48, is a married woman from Forsyth County Georgia. According to Asst. Forsyth County Prosecutor Heather Dunn, the woman developed a bizarre fascination with her daughter’s 15-year-old boyfriend, even going to far as to get breast implants to as to further entice him. Dunn said that in the beginning, Kathy coached the boy on the best ways to seduce and have sex with her own daughter. “She was advising him on how to kiss her daughter, how to touch her daughter, when would be an appropriate time to touch her buttocks, what would be the appropriate time and manner to remove her shirt,” Dunn said.
Then, one night while Kathy’s husband was out of town, she contacted the boy and invited him over to have sex with her. Apparently, this was the hands-on portion of the How To Screw My Daughter training. This bizarre crash course in sex ed continued over the course of the next six months. Though the boy’s parents did not initially know about the affair, they did notice something was amiss. Their son was behaving strangely and his grades began to falter at school. They took his computer away, but Kathy slyly purchased a cellphone to give to the boy so that he could continue to communicate and exchange lewd Facebook messages and Snapchats with her.
The boy’s mother told the court that because of the humiliation surrounding her son’s rape, her family has had to relocate to a new city. Kathy, as part of her sentencing, must pay for her victim’s therapy. Initially, Kathy’s family stuck by her, with her husband going into court with her hand-in-hand, as Kathy’s attorneys denied the allegations. Now, we’re just wondering how much therapy her daughter will need.
For our next exhibit, we have a hideous specimen who might as well serve as the poster beast for human slime. Heidi Gannon, 39, was sentenced to 10 years in prison today. Her husband, Arthur Gannon, is already serving 69 to life for his role in the abuse the two subjected two young girls to in their New York home over the course of six years.
According to prosecutors, the disgusting couple began abusing the girls, who are related to them, when they were 8 years old. The victims testified that Arthur would use duct tape, rope and handcuffs to bind them, and would also blindfold them as well. He would then remove their clothing and sexually abuse them, stopping short of intercourse.
Heidi helped her husband by occasionally holding the girls down, and by taking photos and video of the acts. Arthur would put the images on his computer temporarily, but one of the victims told the court that he would ultimately delete the images and wipe the computer so as to avoid getting caught. Arthur repeatedly told the girls that they would get in trouble if they ever told anyone what he and Heidi were doing. One of the girls said she survived the assaults by going to a “space space in her head” where she didn’t have to feel anything. Eventually, the girls told employees at their school what was going on behind closed doors.
Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo said it was the worst sex abuse case he’s seen in 40 years on the job.
