Florida drama teacher Pamela Stigger, 33, has been arrested on allegations that she raped a former student. According to Broward Sheriff’s deputies, they discovered Stigger and a 15-year-old boy in a parked car around 2 a.m. on Thursday morning. The boy was sans pants, and told them that he and Stigger had just had sex.
Stigger teaches theater at Forest Glen Middle School—though we assume that’s a not-for-long situation. The boy was apparently in Stigger’s eighth grade drama class, which is how they met. According to authorities, Stigger had a “custodial relationship” with the teen, which would explain why she was with him at 2 a.m. on a school night.
The boy told authorities that Stigger was driving home, but that she pulled over mid-ride and began kissing him before telling him to get into the backseat where there was more room. According to the arrest report, Stigger was distracted, allegedly giving the teen a blowjob, when he told her deputies were walking towards the car.
Stigger, however, claims that the boy is lying and police have it all wrong. She said she was mentoring the boy in the backseat and that he was trying to seduce her when police interrupted. “Mentoring,” indeed. Stranger things have happened, of course, but things look pretty bad for Stigger right now. As of two years ago, she was creating dramatic casting monologues for movie auditions on YouTube:
We’re honestly not sure what’s going on with drama teachers lately. In February, a theater teacher in Orange County was arrested for allegedly sending suggestive texts to an underage female student. Camryn Zelinger, 32, had recently married and was a well-liked and popular teacher up until the girl’s mother allegedly discovered sexts on her daughter’s phone from Zelinger. That case has yet to come to trial, so it’s not clear if Zelinger will be convicted.
