This is a new one. Based on American female teacher scandals at least, though I suppose it could easily happen here as well. An eighteen year old student in India beat her mother to death with a stick because mom (and dad, not present at the time) had prevented her from running away with her 35-year-old, divorced female teacher, with whom she was in love. There’s no love like young love, or young to older love, or intergenerational lesbian feelings.

We’ve seen cases locally of female teachers and female students, though it’s rarer. Presume the feelings between these two are rather powerful. Though we’ve certainly never seen the girl off or try to off her disapproving parents. Imagine at least some have thought about it.

The perpetrator’s younger sister came home to find her mother bloodied and lifeless. The girl’s father and husband of the decedent explained the situation:

“My daughter attacked my wife with sticks and rods, which led to severe injuries to her head. My daughter fled the spot and my wife was bleeding heavily when my younger daughter arrived from school. Both were in a relationship for since over three months and we had objected to it. We had no altercation for any other reason.”

Imagine beating your own mother to death with blunt objects. Pretty heady stuff in the name of lust. The daughter and teacher had previously run away before but were caught by authorities and the daughter returned to her family for a dressing down. Obviously, the lectures didn’t take.

The murderer in this case has been apprehended though her older female lover remains at large, not a suspect in the murder, but certainly not likely to win any teaching awards this year in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
